Nature, environment

Concrete actions

The Feudo Arancio estate celebrates nature and respects the environment. From the structure of the winery to introducing innovative technologies and better viticulture -everything is designed to reduce environmental impact. To create sustainable wines in an area immersed in nature, surrounded by rows of vines, lemon trees and expanses of olive trees.
1/3
Renewable energy

Sustainable production, starting with energy: solar panels for hot water and photovoltaic panels for electricity. Also purchased energy comes from renewable sources.

2/3
Save every drop

Seven artificial lakes collect water in the winter for use during the summer period. Computerised drip irrigation systems distribute only the water needed and avoid waste.

3/3

Waste sorting

Waste is disposed of by sorting the waste, through specialised firms.

Certified sustainable production
In 2002, Feudo Arancio became the first Italian winery to obtain the EMAS certification (Eco-Management and Audit Scheme), established by the European Union for environmental management.
The production cycle is UNI-EN-ISO 14001 certified, and our commitment does not stop there; environmental strategies are constantly being updated with a view to continuous improvement.
Nature at the center
At Feudo, an important step in respecting the nature is… nature. Observe it, know it, understand it - a fundamental approach to making sustainable wine.
Caring for plants
Plants are regularly and meticulously cared for. This way the grapes enjoy natural phytosanitary protection.
Plants helping each other
Grassing prevents erosion, planting nitrogen plants reduces the need for fertilizer use.
Treatments
We do not use chemicals and alternative methods are adopted, such as use of copper and sulfur, beneficial insects and the technique of sexual confusion, a pest control system.
Preservation
Local flora and fauna are enhanced, catalogued and protected within the estate. Presence of wild orchids, creating a lemon garden, nesting of the white stork near the vineyards.
